How to choose sunroom glass? You must understand this!

1. Tempered glass
Compared with ordinary glass, tempered glass is tempered to form compressive stress on the surface of the glass.
Even if it is broken, it will not fall into pieces. The fragments are honeycomb-shaped obtuse-angled small particles,
which minimizes damage to the human body. There are differences. Thickness can be selected and widely used.
Advantages of tempered glass: high safety, thermal stability, high strength, and wind pressure resistance.
Insufficient tempered glass: it is difficult to cut and reprocess, and the surface is uneven.
Suitable for sunroof: yes
2.Insulated glass
It is made of two or more layers of tempered glass bonded and sealed by aluminum strips and silicone glue.
Dry gas is injected between the two pieces of glass, and the aluminum strips are filled with anhydrous gas to
ensure the dryness of the air between the glass pieces. The thermal conductivity of air is very low. The dry air is
sealed between the glass, which can effectively block heat conduction, that is, it can intercept the energy of the
sun entering the room.
Advantages of insulated glass: heat insulation, sound insulation and noise reduction, super sealing, waterproof
and dewproof.
Insufficient insulating glass: If the sealing is not good, dust will enter the glass cavity and it will be difficult to clean.
Suitable for sunroof: No
It can be used on doors, windows and the sides of the sunroom, but it is not recommended to use it on the top surface.
Once the sealing is not done well, for example, bubbles appear in the sealant, causing air moisture to enter. Over time,
the roof may leak, and the sunroom will instantly become deformed. It becomes a water curtain cave.
3.Laminated glass
Laminated glass is made by replacing the dry gas between two pieces of tempered glass with an organic polymer interlayer
and undergoing high temperature and high pressure treatment. Intermediate films include: PVB, SGP, EVA, PU, etc. Their
functions are similar. They mainly enhance the toughness of the glass and prevent it from exploding due to excessive strength.
Even if it is broken, it will stick together in a network shape and will not fall off.
Advantages of laminated glass: safe and resistant to smashing, soft and resistant to pressure, transparent and explosion-proof,
sound insulation and noise reduction, and UV protection.
Insufficient laminated glass: poor stability and prone to bursting during processing; the surface of the glass is easily blurred in
rainy seasons, affecting the appearance.

Suitable for sunroof: yes

3. Coated glass (Low-E glass)
A layer of metal, alloy or metal compound film is coated on the inner and outer surfaces to change the optical properties of the glass.
The commonly used coated glass in sunrooms is Low-E glass, which has a high transmittance to light and a high reflectivity to infrared
rays. Simply put, it prevents radiation without affecting the transmission of light.
Advantages of Low-E glass: protection against red ultraviolet rays, thermal stability, wind pressure resistance, and light transmittance.
Low-E glass has disadvantages: it is difficult to reprocess, has high production costs and is expensive.
Suitable for sunroof: yes
However, because the light transmittance is too high, too much sunlight entering the room in summer will increase the energy consumption
of the air conditioner. Others can also be used in areas with less light to improve lighting.
In summary, the four types of glass have their own advantages and disadvantages. Among them, laminated glass is relatively more
cost-effective when used on sun roofs. Of course, this is only a personal opinion. If you have knowledgeable friends, you can also leave
